Biodanza is the Dance of Life … an invitation to reconnect deeply with Life in Vivencia or “the experience of being intensely alive in each moment”.
A Biodanza session combines dance, music, nourishing touch and human connection, leaving participants with a deepened sense of pleasure in living and engagement with other people.
With repeated experiences of Vivencia over time, a beneficial rebalancing of brain biochemistry, hormones and patterns of activation/relaxation in the nervous system starts to take effect.
Participants can then experience lasting changes in baseline levels of calm, joy and positive connection with life. Along with these shifts, spontaneous insights into relationships and behaviour can emerge, with participants feeling newly resourced and confident to change their life situations.
Biodanza was founded in the 1970s in Chile by the clinical psychologist and anthropologist Rolando Toro Araneda, who had a vision for transforming human culture and relationships with his system, and was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for this work. Today Biodanza is offered around the world in classes, workshops and extended trainings for the general public, and also in schools, companies, clinics and social projects.
